Myth says that hundreds of years ago, there was a red devil living in a cave deep in the Toggenburg mountains. Today, although the Güntensperger cheese dairy is not inhabited by a red devil, you will find a fantastic cheese there instead. It is said that
when you eat Roter Teufel, a little devil tickles your tastebuds with his trident.
Intensive flavours of caramelised onions and herbs, with rich diary notes. Savoury, brothy, umami. A smooth, creamy cheese with small eyes. The paste is flinty.
